The Meyerhoff Katamon Public Library was opened to the public on the 23st of June, 1969 (see picture). The Library is part of the Jerusalem Municipal Libraries Network. The library's operations are wholly funded by the municipality.

The library has since its establishment served thousands of patrons, many of which have been returning with their children, others have been recalling their childhood memories of time spent in the library.

The library consists of an Adult reading library, mostly in Hebrew with a growing collection of books in English. We host a small collection of books in Russian.

The Children's and Teen library's collection is mostly in Hebrew with a large selection of Science Fiction and New Readers collections. Our English Adult, Children and Teen collections is steadily growing!
In the past year we have begun lending e-books (currently in Hebrew).

The library also hosts several special collections: part of the Ticho Art library, and a collection of books on Jerusalem.

The library serves the neighborhoods of Katamon, Pat and Gonenim, totaling about 26,000 inhabitants[1] the community is a mix of many ethnicities as well as new immigrants from the USA, Russia and France.

The library hosts story hours in English and Hebrew, book launches and various other cultural activities .
